As founder of Burlington Wells, Inc. in 1990 at the age 26 offering Contract and Direct Hire staffing services to the Accounting profession, Mr. Brown directed the growth and development of the firm into one of the most dynamic staffing and IT consulting companies in the Southeastern United States. Within ten years, Burlington Wells grew into a multi-specialty/multi-office staffing and consulting firm specializing in Accounting/Finance, Healthcare Finance, Information Technology and Human Resources professionals.
The steady growth (65%-100% annually) attracted the attention of the global leader in Human Capital Management, Monster.com / TMPWorldwide who acquired the company in March of 2000 utilizing the corporation’s successful business philosophy and culture as the model for future acquisitions.
Upon ensuring a smooth transition, Brown embarked on his next venture, Insights. As a leader in the staffing and software support industry, Brown recognized the need for the development of comprehensive training materials which would keep up with the rapid technological advances of the Information Revolution. After Insights was published (Intellidon Press) Christian, with Intellidon as his partner, developed the world’s first truly Interactive Recruitment and Search Training platform allowing both Staffing firms and Human Resource Departments to improve hiring accuracy dramatically.
The success of the training product prompted Mr. Brown to seek out ways to further impact the staffing industry. After much research, he opened Insights Search, a staffing and support firm dedicated to Contract, Direct Hire and HIM consulting services in 2002. Brown recognized the need in the ever changing Health Information Management industry with Insights Search focusing on this opportunity. Insights Search’s outstanding growth (70% + yr. over yr. revenue growth) attracted the publicly traded staffing firm, On Assignment (ASGN), an industry leader in healthcare and technology staffing. In 2006 On Assignment acquired Insights Search adding it to its current offerings in 8 countries including 70 offices and $1.7 billion in revenue.
Mr. Brown went on to become Vice President of Health Information Management Services with On Assignment. He introduced, trained, and made cultural multiple product lines from a small group of Medical Records Coders. These lines included HIM and Coding leadership at the highest levels, CDI, Audit/ Compliance, Coding training and consulting, software support and coding services to the largest HIM consulting firms and acutecare facilities in the industry. In this role, Brown was celebrated as OA “Vice President of the Year” for 2007, 2008, and 2009 becoming the first person to achieve this status over multiple years.
In 2010 due to the unique and paradigm changing events in healthcare, Mr. Brown undertook the challenge of organically starting a staffing and solutions organization. He recognized the outstanding importance of revenue cycle leadership and staff in healthcare at this critical point in time. The aging of the “baby boomer” population, the unfunded mandates from the government, and the growing complexity and involvements of every facet of the healthcare organization again presented opportunity for Brown. “We want to be there for our clients with facilities continuing to be burdened by the challenges of finding leaders and staff capable of rising to these myriad of challenges. Christian has served on the Board of Directors of Staffing organizations working with them to grow organic revenues through creating culture, growing top line / bottom line revenues, margins, and profits while integrating strategic acquisitions / divestitures. He has published a number of articles including “The Baby Boomer Effect on Healthcare Staffing”, Aug. 2000 HFMA and AHIMA publications along with his book.
