Andre Whitehead

Meet Our Manager, Recruitment Solutions: Interview with Harmony Healthcare’s Andre Whitehead

He’s married with two adorable kids, he’s an unbelievable hype man for his team, and he always has a kind word for the back office staff here at Harmony. He’s also our resident expert on anything and everything related to the Miami Dolphins, Florida State Seminoles, Orlando Magic, and Miami Marlins.

Without further ado, here’s Andre in his own words.

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?

I’d have to say Erik Kilmonger, the ultimate villain. In theory, he wanted something good, but he had the wrong approach. I found myself rooting for him in Black Panther and hoped for a different ending. In the end though, it’s still #WakandaForever.

What does a typical day look like for you here at Harmony?

My days here at Harmony are pretty hectic! I start the day off by following up with our account executives to get updates on any job openings we currently have available. This includes following up on submittals, client interviews, start dates, and any pending issues we may have.

That is quickly followed up by an 8:45 am huddle with my recruiters to go over open jobs and assigning who will cover which positions. The rest of my day is filled with answering emails, attending meetings, preparing reports, and helping my team solve any issues they may face.

What’s one item in your workspace that motivates you and why?

I have a picture of my two kids AJ and Amaya at my desk. Regardless of how stressful the day gets, I can take a look at it and get a smile on my face. All the work I do is for them!

Tell us a story about yourself that may surprise us.

Not really a story, but people are very surprised to find out I’m an avid reader.

The other surprise is the books I read are typically of the sci-fi, fantasy, and post-apocalyptic genres. Some of my favorites include (but are not limited to) Game of Thrones, Wayward Pines, The Remaining, and The New World.

How do you define success?

Success can be defined in a number of ways. For me, coming to a place I like to work every day, having a great family, and friends that I have known for 20+ years is true success.
