Harmony Healthcare spotlight Alexis Robles Munoz, Director, Clinical Solutions

Harmony Healthcare provides healthcare organizations with the talent and resources needed to succeed today as well as the foresight to prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.

In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce you to Alexis Robles Munoz, Director, Clinical Solutions, at Harmony Healthcare. We spoke with Alexis to ask her advice for clients and coding professionals, as well as insights from her career journey.

1. Tell us about your journey in healthcare

My journey in healthcare began in nursing, where I’ve built over 13 years of experience in the outpatient setting, working closely alongside providers and care teams. That early exposure gave me a unique perspective on how clinical care is delivered and the importance of strong collaboration between clinicians.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in how clinical care, documentation, and workflows intersect. Partnering directly with providers sparked my passion for improving documentation practices that support both patient care and operational efficiency. This led me into Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) and risk adjustment, where I’ve developed a strong focus on analyzing how clinical documentation, data, and workflows intersect to more accurately reflect patient complexity and support better outcomes.

2. What are you most proud of about your journey with Harmony Healthcare?

I’m most proud of the opportunity to contribute to the growth and evolution of our CDI solutions in a way that truly supports our clients. Whether through provider education, workflow development, or strategic guidance, I’ve been able to play a role in helping organizations strengthen both the quality and accuracy of their documentation. I’m also incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve built, both internally and with our clients. I take pride in being trusted as a partner in their success.

3. What is the biggest takeaway you’ve gained from your career thus far?

One of the biggest takeaways is the importance of alignment between clinical care, documentation, and operational strategy. When those areas are working together, organizations are better positioned to deliver high-quality care while also maintaining compliance and performance. I’ve also learned that meaningful and lasting change comes from strong collaboration and ongoing education.

4. What are the top CDI trends people in the industry need to be prepared for?

One of the most significant trends shaping CDI right now is the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into clinical workflows. We’re seeing AI-driven tools embedded directly within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) to identify potential documentation gaps, highlight relevant clinical indicators, and support real-time decision making. While this creates opportunities for efficiency and improved capture of patient complexity, it also requires a strong human focus on validation, clinical accuracy, and compliance oversight.

As the industry shifts increasingly toward value-based care, organizations will need to balance leveraging advanced technology while maintaining strong clinical integrity and provider engagement.

5. What advice would you give professionals in the CDI industry?

CDI never stops evolving, and my advice would be to stay curious and hungry for growth and learning. It’s important to stay informed on regulatory updates, coding changes, and emerging industry trends, while also focusing on building strong, collaborative relationships with providers. Those partnerships are key to driving meaningful and sustainable improvements in documentation practices.

6. Tell us a little about Alexis outside of your professional life. How do you spend your time outside of work?

Whether it’s at a concert, floating our Texas rivers, cruising on the back of our Harley, or just lounging at home, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband, children, and friends.

7. What’s a fun fact about Alexis that most people don’t know?

A fun fact about me is that I love live music, but I’m just as likely to be the one on stage at karaoke. I’ll take any opportunity to sing and have a good time!

8. Anything other advice to give?

At the end of the day, it all comes back to the patient. It’s easy to focus on metrics, performance, and outcomes, but our work ultimately supports patient care. When we keep that perspective, the quality, accuracy, and impact naturally follow.

Whether you’re looking to enhance your organization’s CDI operations or are looking for a new role, Harmony Healthcare can help. Reach out to us to see how we can support you.
